Physical Description: Sanji is tall and thin. His hair is blonde, and he wears it combed over his left eye. In fact, his left eye is nearly never seen. His eyebrows have a very unusual shape, as the outside sides curls upwards into a spiral.

Sanji is a very classy dresser. Black double-breasted suits, pants, ties and shoes are standard issue, usually with a striped blue shirt underneath, but any combination of suits, ties, shirts, vests, and other similar classy wear could be part of his outfit.

Although he's thin, he's not unmuscled: he's actually very strong, particularly his lower body. You can't really tell through the suits he usually wears, but with his shirt off you could see a powerfully toned body.

Sanji is a chain smoker, and is rarely seen without a cigarette.

Personality: Sanji is an extremely confidant individual, certain of his physical attractiveness, his cooking skills, and his combat abilities. He is particularly proud of his sooking skills, and will often commandeer the kitchens when he is dissatisfied with the food (even in restaurants).

Sanji is also severely foulmouthed. At times, every second word out of his mouth is 'shit'. At other times, it's only every fifth word. This trait, however, tends to vanish when he is speaking to pretty ladies...which brings us to our next topic.

There are no words to express how mad for the ladies Sanji is. He will bend over backwards to assist a woman in need, in any way. He basically tries to woo every woman he comes across by being helpful and pampering, and bringing them delicious meals. He will also defend the honor of any woman who is insulted in front of him, and/or defend her person, by beating to a pulp the offender.

Towards other men, however, he is much more curt, often insulting them casually (especially if he perceives them as a possible rival) or ignoring them altogether.

Sanji cannot stand to see food wasted in any way.

His ultimate dream is to find the legendary All Blue, the ocean in which fish from every ocean in the world swim. Not only would it be a spectacular sight, it would also be a chef's paradise, as he would have a neverending supply of ingredients from all across the world at his disposal. Although most do not believe it exists, Sanji has dreamed of finding it since he was eleven years old.

Abilities/Strengths/Weaponry: Sanji is an expert chef. He can create a delectible meal from almost any combination of ingredients, provided they have not gone bad. When he cooks, he uses all parts of the ingredients in some way, so that nothing goes to waste. Regardless of what ingredients he uses, the end result is always delicious.

Sanji has also been trained in the martial art known as Red Leg, which his mentor Zeff developed as the perfect fighting style for cooks; The style uses the lower body exclusively, keeping the user's hands safe from harm. As cooks, Sanji and Zeff's hands are crucial for them to ply their trade, and as such they never use them, nor their kitchen knives, in combat. Red Leg consists of series of kicks, using the arms only to support the body during some of the more complex maneuvers. It is also an acrobatic style, involving various flips and rolls to bring the lower body to bear. Although Sanji doesn't like to admit it, a large part of the Red Leg's power lies in his shoes. Although they appear perfectly normal, the toe and sole are lined with small amounts of steel, enhancing his kick's weight.

When fighting to defend a woman, Sanji's fighting ability is greatly enhanced: he will fight harder, and longer, and deadlier.

Weaknesses: Sanji cannot, under any circumstances, harm a woman. He was raised very strictly to never lay hand (or, in his case, foot) on a member of the opposite sex, and the strength of that conviction has only grown over the years. He would sooner die than strike a woman.

Sanji also has a tendency to bite off more than he can chew. He won't hesitate to throw himself at an enemy that clearly outmatches him. He is very compeititive, and will often get in trouble for taking oversomebody else's kitchen in order to outdo them.

Despite Sanji's best and constant efforts, he fails spectacularly when it comes to seduction. Most women dismiss him as an obvious pervert (this is true), and some few simply exploit him by offering some small amount of affection to obtain his ongoing servitude. He doesn't actually mind doing this, but it can be highly inconvenient.

History: Sanji was born on the island of Naraka, and did absolutely nothing interesting for the first ten years of his life. When he was ten years old, he managed to enlist on an ocean liner as an assistant to the ship's chef. He spent a year on the ship, traveling from island to island. During that time, he dreamed of nothing more than to be the one to find the All Blue, the legendary ocean in which fish from all over the world swim. The other crewmembers laughed at him, telling him that there was no such thing, and that he was wasting his time on it.

Their ship was chased down and boarded by the pirate "Red-Shoes Zeff", who was known for being the only pirate captain to double as the ship's cook. The ship surrendered when he came alongside, but when the pirates tried to rifle through his personal belongings, Sanji fought them, kicking and punching with as much strength as an eleven-year-old boy can muster.

After they restrained him, the pirates dug through his stuff and found it to be worthless: nothing but newspaper clippings and other assorted garbage. When Zeff asked Sanji why he'd fought so hard to protect such worthless stuff, the boy had shouted back that it was important: He'd collected everything he could find that related in any way to the All Blue, no matter how thin the connection was, or how fantastic the tale. He hoped to one day use all of this to try and find the legendary ocean.

Upon hearing all this, the pirates, excepting Zeff, burst into laughter. They mocked him for believing in the All Blue, and they called his dreams foolish and misguided, among other, more colorful phrases. Only Zeff did not laugh at him.

While the pirates were still looting the ship, a great storm kicked up, and suddenly both ships were sent crashing into each other by the waves, and they began to sink. Sanji fell overboard, and plunged down into the depths of the ocean. Seeing him fall, Zeff jumped in after him. He managed to rescue Sanji, but his right leg got tangled in some lines, and it was badly injured.

He managed to hold onto Sanji as the storm sent them drifting across the ocean. Just when it seemed they would drown, they washed up on a small island. Emphasis on the small: this was a small sand cay on the fringes of the Kuchiyose. Nothing but a small patch of sand, with wreckage from the wrecked ships littering the beach.

When Sanji awoke, a battered Zeff was seated, facing away from him. By his side was a large bag: behind him was a smaller sack. The sacks contained some food that had washed up from the shipwrecks, Zeff said. Each of them would need to sit on opposite ends of the island and watch for passing vessels, to make sure they didn't miss any. The smaller back was for Sanji. When Sanji pointed out that Zeff's sack of food was comparatively enormous, Zeff retorted that as a large man, his stomach was larger, and he needed more food. Reluctantly, Sanji took a seat on the other side of the island, and waited for a ship to come by.

No ship came. Although he did his best to conserve it, Sanji's meagre amount of food ran out, and he began to starve. After weeks with no food at all, Sanji looked over at where Zeff was sitting, and saw that Zeff still had a large sack full of food. Nearly dead from starvation, he decided to kill Zeff, and take his food. He pulled a rusted knife from the wreckage, and snuck up on Zeff.

When he slashed open Zeff's enormous sack, though, he found no food at all. Instead, he found it full of valuables: it was a large sack of treasure from Zeff's pirate ship. When he approached Zeff, he discovered to his horror that Zeff had given him all the food and eaten his own wounded leg to survive.

Zeff said that he had saved Sanji, and given him all the food, because Sanji had believed in the same thing as Zeff: like Sanji, he'd always dreamed of finding the All Blue, and he believed that it existed. He'd sailed with his pirate crew in hopes of finding the legendary ocean, even though they hadn't believed in it. Now that his crewmates were all dead, lost in the shipwreck, and his pirate career was effectively ended by the loss of his leg, he intended to fulfill his other dream instead: to build a floating restaurant, so that nobody who sails the seas would ever need to go hungry again. Sanji tearfully pledged that if they made it off the island, he would help Zeff build his floating restaurant.

Shortly after that, a ship finally came by, and they were rescued. Eventually, they created and built the Baratie, the world's only ocean-going restaurant. Although its home port is in the entertainment section of Dardenelles, it travels to all four islands on its own schedule, and is known throughout Aegis for its fine food and its fighting chefs, who evict rowdy customers personally. Sanji serves as Sous-Chef for the establishment, directly below Zeff and above his fellow chefs Patty and Carne, who lord over the ranks of lesser chefs.
